What is the HVSC Development Academy Program?

The purpose of the program is to help younger and less-experienced players develop their soccer skills in order to be ready for competition soccer with HVSC. The program creates a fun, challenging, and positive environment to work with players on an individual level and help them improve the technical and tactical foundation they need to compete at a higher level.

What will my child get out of it?

A higher level of soccer awareness, technical skill improvement, increased fitness, dynamic team experience, soccer fun…and often sweet HVSC gear!

Who runs the Development Academy program?

The program is run by an experienced, USSF-licensed, paid coaching staff and is assisted by older youth players from the HVSC program. This interaction creates great club unity, provides fun and entertaining mentors for the Academy participants, and improves coaching experience for our older players.

Who can participate?

It is open to players of all abilities, aged 4 to 8. Groups will generally be divided by birth year, so players will work amongst their peers at the same age and skill level.

When/Where does it occur?

There are several, 8-session blocks during the year -- typically seasonally. Any winter sessions will be held indoors at a local facility and all other sessions, when reasonable, will be held outdoors.

What are the obligations?

Time commitment will be twice a week for the duration of the session – with specific time for skill development and learning in a game-like environment. Typically, this is a weeknight/afternoon commitment and will not overflow onto Saturdays. Occasionally, parent involvement is required and will vary based on the needs of the activity and coaching staff.

When open, online registration will be available here, at the top of this page.
